Home/Work With Me

Advisory, speaking, teaching.

Four ways I work with operators, conferences, universities and corporate teams — all grounded in a decade of production and reservoir engineering in the Permian Basin.

Advisory & Consulting

Through IronLady Energy Advisors, technical solutions for all forms of energy — delivered either as an ongoing advisory retainer or as a scoped, one-off project engagement.

  • Production & reservoir engineering problem-solving
  • Unconventional asset development review
  • Artificial lift and flow assurance strategy
  • Technical diligence on oil & gas projects
  • Digital / AI adoption guidance for operations

Speaking & Keynotes

Conference keynotes, panels and internal company events. The talks come out of the book and the field — practical, specific, and written for a technical audience that can tell when you’re bluffing.

  • Personal branding for technical professionals
  • Where AI is genuinely working in oil & gas
  • Career resilience through commodity cycles
  • Women in energy & the visibility gap
  • The realistic future of oil & gas in global energy

Teaching & Short Courses

Semester teaching as an adjunct professor at UT Arlington and UT Permian Basin, plus ad-hoc short courses for corporate teams and industry bodies.

  • Undergraduate & graduate petroleum engineering
  • Half-day and multi-day corporate short courses
  • Graduate-to-professional transition workshops
  • Technical writing & communication for engineers

PE Exam Prep

A dedicated Professional Engineer prep course, taught once a year. Yoshi is licensed in Texas and New Mexico and knows exactly where candidates lose marks.

  • Annual cohort — limited seats
  • Petroleum engineering PE exam focus
  • Structured revision plan & practice problems
  • Register interest to be notified when it opens

How it works

Four steps, no runaround

Step 1

Send a note

Tell me what you’re trying to solve, roughly when, and roughly what the budget shape looks like. Use the contact form or LinkedIn.

Step 2

A 30-minute call

We work out whether I’m actually the right person. If I’m not, I’ll usually know someone who is.

Step 3

A written scope

Deliverables, timeline and fee in writing before anything starts — retainer for ongoing advisory, fixed scope for project work.

Step 4

The work

Delivered against the scope, with the technical detail your team needs and the plain-language summary your leadership needs.

Before you ask

Common questions

Both. Some clients work on a flat monthly advisory retainer; others bring scoped one-off projects, which is common for oil and gas asset work. Tell me which shape fits and we’ll structure it accordingly.

A tailored talk, a pre-event planning call, and — where it makes sense — a workshop or Q&A session alongside the keynote. Send the event details, audience profile and date and I’ll come back with availability and a fee.

Once a year. Register your interest through the contact form and you’ll be notified when the next cohort opens for enrolment.

Yes — short course engagements are taken on an ad-hoc basis throughout the year, from half-day workshops to multi-day corporate programmes. Topics can be drawn from the guides, the book, or built to your brief.

Please do. Start with the seven free guides — they answer most of what I get asked. If your question isn’t covered there, send it via the contact form or ask on the YouTube channel.
